Happy Wednesday, crafty friends! We’re back with another Rock Star Spotlight for you today. As I mentioned previously, I’m giving the Rock Stars a little break from some of their usual design team duties this month and this is a really fun way to get to know some of the talented ladies on our design team.

Today we’re shining the spotlight on Repeat Rock Star, Kathy Stacy.

1. Tell us a little about your family.
My husband and I have been married for 24 years and we have two fantastic young men. Dan, our oldest is a Physical Therapy Assistant in California and Matt, served in the US Marines and is now working in St. Louis in his chosen field of Water Purification. I couldn’t be more proud of those boys. Our family has moved around quite a bit due to my work. We’ve lived in Southern California, St. Louis Missouri, Mahwah New Jersey, Middletown New York, and now in Richmond Virginia.

2. How did you get into stamping?
When I moved to St. Louis in 2004, I met a friend who introduced me to Scrapbooking. I did that for several years and then found Kristina Werner at http://www.kwernerdesign.com/blog/ and fell in love with card making. I am a committed person at heart so I went head first into card making and having come out yet.

3. What is your favorite technique?
Oh, that is too hard. I love ink. Doesn’t really matter what kind but if I collect them all. My go-to black ink is Versafine Onyx Black, unless of course I am Copic Coloring, then I use Momento Tuxedo Black. I have the entire collection of Distress Inks in both the full and mini sizes. I also have all the Hero Arts Shadow Inks and several Simon Says Stamp inks. Oh, then there’s the archival inks. I guess you get the picture…..

4. What is your favorite tool?
My heat gun, Big Shot Die Cutting Machine, Tonic Trimmer, stamping block, and scissors are used daily. Yes, daily. There has to be a national emergency if I am not working on card making in some fashion or another.

5. What are your favorite embellishments?
I love to add some gems, pearls, or sequins to my projects.

6. What is your favorite coloring method?
Copic Coloring is my go to method. I have been both beginner and advanced Copic Certified, taken multiple courses in person and on line to increase my coloring skills. I recommend taking the in-person Copic Certification Classes as you really get a good in person lesson. I’ve also loved the courses offered by Kit & Clowder on Facebook, Online Card Classes, and Annies Craft Store.

7. What is your favorite color combo?
If we are talking about Copic’s, I’m a red fan so I like R05, R24 and R46 for an easy but great red. If we are talking just colors in general, I lean toward the warm colors that you would find in fall.

8. If you had to describe your stamping style with 3 words, what would they be?
Vibrant, artistic, & clean.

9. Do you always send the cards you create?
Yes, either to friends or family or a chosen organization like Send A Smile 4 Kids.

10. For which occasion or holiday do you create the most cards?
Fall of Course!

11. What is your favorite stamping magazine?
It’s so sad that many of the magazines have gone away. I loved Rubber Stamper.

12. What are your favorite Repeat Impressions’ designs?
I love the silhouette stamps and the realism of the animals.

13. What are your other interests besides stamping?
My husband and I enjoy walking, especially around scenic Virginia.

14. Name your favorite food and one food you can’t stand.
Oddly enough, I love oatmeal and eat it every day but don’t feed me capers – YUCK.

15. What is your guilty pleasure?
Chocolate of course.

16. Do you have any pet peeves?
Rude people.

17. Tell us one random thing people may not know about you.
I love pajama’s.

18. Name 3 things on your “bucket list”.
Write letters to both of my boys so they have something when I’m gone. I certainly want to do more traveling, and would like to learn photoshop.

19. If you were going to be stuck on a deserted island, which 5 books, 5 movies, 5 people and 5 foods would you take along?
Books: I love the Outlander Series and would take 5 of those even though there are more in the series.
Movies: I’d take Somewhere in Time, Love Actually, Lord of the Rings, Edward Scissorhands, and Wizard of Oz.
People: would be my Husband, 2 boys and their girlfriends.
Foods: oatmeal, protein drinks, peanut butter, chocolate, and potatoes

20. If you have to choose a movie title for your life story, what would that be?
Keep on Moving!
